About

Reputable mining executive Barry Kevin O’Rourke leads a mining company in mineral-rich Guyana, where mining is one of the most stable industries. In fact, gold-based products, such as pure gold and platinum-plated gold, make up over 40 percent of Guyana’s export portfolio, and roughly 86,000 workers were either directly or indirectly employed by the country’s gold-mining industry. Barry Kevin O’Rourke’s company operates alongside a large gold mining operation, but its primary focus is on precious metal and diamond extraction.

To complete its work, Mr. O’Rourke’s company operates in Guyana’s jungle interior. He manages all mining operations on the company’s 30,000 acres of land and oversees day-to-day tasks at the mining company’s operations in the city. A regular attendee of government functions relating to the mining industry, as well as a close collaborator of the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC), he remains apprised of new developments affecting mining and its regulations in the country.

Mr. O’Rourke also maintains an interest in topics relating to the mining industry, such as mineralogy and geology. He is also interested in the environment and often prefers spending time in the interior jungle regions to Guyana’s urban locations.
